Nemicio Ramos was one of the 2017 winners of a regional coffee contest in Huila called Taza de Tarqui. He has been carefully experimenting with fermentation techniques to improve the sweetness of his coffee. The coffee is produced in Tarqui, a small town in the foothills of the Cordillera. The region is known as a great coffee growing district due to the warm updrafts of tropical air from the Magdalena river rising to the volcanic mountain slopes above.
This is a lovely clean coffee with lots of clarity in the cup. The apple-like acidity brings a soft mouthfeel and there is a maple sweetness in the finish.
